Destination of the Day: Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum, Ann Arbor (Library), Grand Rapids (Museum), MI

Destination 2 in the series "Hail"

President Ford must have been very proud of these additions to the Presidential Libraries System.  The museum sits on the banks of the Grand River in Grand Rapid's downtown district while the library is on the campus of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor campus.  The 44,000 square foot museum includes a replica of the Oval Office, a number of dresses First Lady Betty Ford wore, artifacts from his youth, and an overview of his presidency.  His tastefully modest tomb is located north of the museum.  For more information please visit his Wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ford
