Destination of the Day: Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee, WI

Destination 1 in the series "Winter Blahs"

If you are impressed by Chicago's Field Museum you will be equally pleased by the Milwaukee Public Museum.  Located downtown near major hotels and the Amtrak station (think special rail ride for the kids) this museum trip will easily fill an entire day.  Exhibits include The Streets of Old Milwaukee, The Third Planet (great for the kids), Puelicher Butterfly Wing, and until 30 May, Mummies of the World!  A planetarium and IMAX theater are part of the complex.  For the adults the museum hosts "Food & Froth Fest" on 18 Feb.  which brings together city breweries and restaurants for an evening of food, fun, and entertainment.

Shows: Mummies of the World (until 30 May), Food & Froth Fest (19 Feb)
