Series of the Week: "Rolling on the river"

Mississippi, Ohio, Kanawha, Illinois, St. Clair, and St. Marys are just a few of the rivers that run through the Great Lakes and Upper South.  Sources of drinking water, irrigation, recreation, and disposal these rivers helped shape the region since the arrival of humans thousands of years ago.  Many are now 'tamed' with dams, locks, courses altered and straighten, and one even reversed!  This week the GLCT will highlight just a few of the amazing rivers that continue to draw people to their banks and provide a little breathing room.

If you would like to contribute to this series contact me at rmaihoferii@gmail.com. Include your name, the establishment, a short description, and a photo if you have one.
