Destination of the Day: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, OH

Destination 2 in the series "Opening Day!, Week II"

Opening Day was 2 April against the Milwaukee Brewers. The next home game is Tuesday, 5 April at 7:10 pm against the Houston Astros. This 42,271 seat stadium saw two opening weekend wins for the Reds.  Situated right on the Ohio River the stadium provides some outstanding views of the downtown and the river.  A few nice additions to the park include the Power Stacks (with a coded tribute to Pete Rose) and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum.  Located downtown the stadium is easy to access from nearby hotels and downtown Newport, KY, by footbridge.

Now, before you get excited about such a patriotic name, the stadium is actually named for the Great American Insurance Group.
