"GRAND RAPIDS, MI – ArtPrize 2014 has awarded its $200,000 Public Grand Prize to Anila Quayyum Agha for her installation "Intersections."

Agha, whose ArtPrize entry is on display at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, is the sixth winner of the world's largest art prize for her 6.5-foot cube, illuminated from the inside, projecting its shadows on the surrounding walls as well as its viewers.

ArtPrize founder Rick DeVos presented the award to Agha, of Indianapolis, as well as to the rest of the winners of ArtPrize 2014, in ceremonies held at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre on Oct. 10.

She also shares tonight's $200,000 Juried Grand Prize with Sonya Clark for her two-dimensional entry, "The Hair Craft Project."

Agha, 49, was the choice of 41,109 registered voters who cast 398,714 votes over 16 days to pick the winner from a field of 1,536 entries."
