Destination of the Week: Fort Wayne, IN

Destination of the Week: Fort Wayne, IN

Summary:
Fort Wayne is an odd duck, in a good way.  What could be a nondescript sprawling Midwestern town seems to want to be a bit more.  Not as hip as Grand Rapids or Madison and nearly 2 hours from the nearest major city, either one can think of the city as in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of everything (Oh, and it about the geographic center of the GLCT region!).  Downtown is a little light in activities, bars, and restaurants, but still has its charms.  The jewel of downtown is the arts center.  Instead of competing for donations, the arts center and affiliated groups created Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne.  This has allowed the city to develop its arts and performance places well beyond what one would expect.
