Just the walk to the museum is worth the trip. Located at the northern tip of Northerly Island, which in fact is not an island, the view from front steps of Chicago’s glowing skyline is unequaled. The museum’s collection of space artifacts will keep the science geek inside a GLCTer busy for hours. Take advantage of the staggered shows, even though they will add up quickly on the ticket price. It is also suggested to take the museum map. Some great sections are somewhat hidden and can be easily missed. The on-site restaurant provides views of the lake and downtown.
