Destination of the Week: Lake Geneva Area, WI

Destination of the Week: Lake Geneva Area, WI

The Chicago-Milwaukee super region is surrounded by amazing vacation destinations-Door County, New Buffalo & Berrien County, LaSalle County, and the Dubuque/Galena & Jo Daviess County area.  Each has its own unique charms.   The granddaddy of them all is the Lake Geneva area.

Comprised of four villages around Geneva Lake, the area may be best known for the numerous mansions hugging the lake.  In fact, whole boat tours are designed around mansion sightseeing.  Golfers will have a hard time selecting which of the many golf courses to visit first.  With several large and medium sized resorts, campgrounds, and hotels, there is bound to be the perfect place to relax and watch the sun set over the lake.  The largest, Grand Geneva Resort, also has an on-site spa, horse stables, seasonal skiing trails, and an impressive waterpark.

Most hotels are located in downtown Lake Geneva, but if you are willing to do a little driving, lower cost mid-ranged hotels can be found in nearby Delavan and Elkhorn.

Go if you like:
