Destination of the Week: Lansing-East Lansing, MI-Michigan Historical Museum and Library of Michigan
Do not let the depressing and unimaginative web site deter you from visiting this well-meaning state museum. Located on the western end of the Michigan State Capitol Complex, along with Michigan’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Hall of Justice (No, not the one from DC Comics!), the building includes both the state museum and library. Inside one will find hundreds of years of present-day Michigan history on three levels. Highlights include sections on mining history, an auto gallery, and a Motown section. A huge surface parking lot should provide plenty of room on weekends.
