Billed as “The Waterpark Capital of the World!”, if it is not, is must be a close second. Located on the banks of the Wisconsin River, the area is comprised of three small villages: Wisconsin Dells, Lake Delton, and Baraboo. Each town has its own vibe, from tourist trap to small town America. While many only think of the area as a warm summer destination, many of the resorts are open year-around due to massive indoor parks. During the summer the place is nearly a madhouse with tourists crawling over everything.
One downside to the area is its lack of pedestrian infrastructure, especially along Wisconsin Dells Parkway. This five-lane road can be difficult and dangerous to cross. The area is making some changes to make the area safer.
