Garfield Park Conservatory has move lives than a cat. It has faced civil disturbances, budget cuts, and most recently a hailstorm and destroyed its glass roof. Fortunately for the citizens of Chicago and its many visitors a dedicated number of vocal volunteers have made sure this Chicago jewel did not turn into a memory. Located right next to a Green Line station, the complex is easily accessible from downtown. During the winter the conservatory is a relaxing reminder of warmer days. During the summer the vast lawn and gardens provide plenty of space to relax, enjoy, and think.
