Destination of the Week: Chicago-Will County, IL-Joliet Iron Works Historic Site

According to Wikipedia, the Joliet Iron and Steel Works was one of largest complexes steel mills at the opening of the 20th Century.  Now only ruins, a park path now gives adventurous hikers the chance to see what is left.

The historic site is about 39.8 miles/0 hours, 50 minutes by car from downtown Chicago.  The Metra Joliet Union Station is about 0.9 miles away.
