Destination of the Week: Chicago-Near North Side Communities, IL-BoysTown in Lake View

Considered one of the best gay neighborhoods in the U.S., Boystown is exactly one might think.  Bars, high-end restaurants, beer gardens, and little stores fill this half mile section of North Halsted Street.  The neighborhood hosts a number of summer events, including Pride Fest, Chicago Pride Parade, and Market Days.  If you are looking for something a little less intense, try nearby North Broadway.

Destination of the Week: Chicago-Near North Side Communities, IL-Wrigley Field in Lake View

Destination of the Week: Chicago-Near North Side Communities, IL-Wrigley Field in Lake View

For many diehard baseball fans, Wrigley Field and its surrounding neighborhood is where baseball should be played.  Now one of the oldest baseball stadiums in the US, Wrigley Field has a character no newer baseball stadium may ever have.  Currently undergoing a much needed four-year renovation and expansion, the stadium should soon include some modern conveniences (think bathrooms!) soon.  Check the Cubs’ web site for weekend tours.
